Lucknow

Lucknow hails as an upcoming metropolitan city and it showcases many of its splendors worldwide with its surprising charm all over. It was made the capital city of Uttar Pradesh after the Indian Independence in 1947. It was also addressed by a different caption 'The Nawab City', which means a city full of great people. One factor to be appreciated is the mannerism otherwise known as the tehzib. The Aadab meaning salutation has a unique style and comfort on its own. The established courtesans were specially known for their poems and dance. Although the dressing style patterns have reasonably changed in the recent century, Chikan is considered the most delicate fabric decorating the cupboards with its neat hand made embroidery. Only few cities depict the charm of dupattas also called the covering shawl and Lucknow is one among them.

Some of the most popular monumental heritage of Lucknow is the Imambara, Rumi Darwaza and Sankat Mochan Temple, which holds religious significance.

The three W's where Lucknow Nawabs give due respect are Women, Wisdom and Wine. An institution named 'Kothas' existed, where the Nawabs sons were sent to imbibe the culture, respect and sophistication for the opposite sex. No one can forget Muzzafar Ali's famous film 'Umrao Jaan' which depicts fully about this institution. Culture wise, Lucknow turns out to be the capital of Northern India.

People fly out kites not as a pastime but also to send love letters to the heartfelt ones. Each and every day here is different and no one knows about the city in full and can never. Hence, we look the place just as Lucknow, but for them is another world.
